Rail Projects in Europe
Transheldrake staff were involved in several rail projects in the UK varying from development of timetables to connect to ferry services, to the building of a completely new railway station and restoration of another station.
Cowes Express, British Rail: Provision of Ticketing and Intergration of Ferry and Rail Service
· Liaison for Cowes Express and Network Southeast in relation to timetabled connections and through ticketing from Cowes to London and other mainland destinations. Involving development of ticket data base with British Rail
Cowes Express, British Rail, SNCF: Rail Connections Midlands (UK) to Paris (France)
· Development of train schedules to link a cross channel operation. The service was from Central England (Birmingham) via Southampton to Le Havre and onward to Paris. This involved outline planning discussions with both British Rail and SNCF (French Rail)
Isle of Wight County Council, British Rail: New Station Lake, Isle Of Wight
· Liaison between County Council and Network Southeast in building of Lake Station (IOW). The first new station on the southern system for 50 years. Completed in a record 26 weeks from 1st meeting to opening.
Isle of Wight County Council, Wightlink, British Rail: Rail Connections to Island
· Liaison between Wightlink (ferries) and British Rail (Network Southeast) in regard to train timetable issues
